No not the singer but the best barber in the toon for years. 94 yrs young and had some stories to boot when getting yer hair cut. It was years later that I found out that he had a top band that did the rounds back in the fifties and sixties including the Ballroom. :-(

He was a top bloke... I remember asking for “ a top gun style” at the height of the films fame only to be told
“ short back and sides and like it son“

In all seriousness he has a huge legacy in the town and have heard many story over the years of the character he was.
