I see the NHL. KHL (Russia) and the UK hockey is going top be shown. They are also going to be showing some of the Pro 14 rugby.
Not bad if you like hockey and rugby union.

Glad to hear they are covering the hockey again this year, they showed the NHL and SHL (Swedish League) last year.
The picture and sound quality isn't always the best but it's still good enough to enjoy the game.

Not really good news for rugby fans as the free to air contract the Pro 14 had with BBC Alba that saw Glasgow and Edinburgh games shown regularly is no more. Premier Sports are showing every game and will put one game per week on FreeSports - as an Irish company of expect them to focus on Ulster, Leinster, Munster and Connaght so Scottish viewers who want to watch our teams will probably be disappointed. What's even worse is that S4C are still getting to show Welsh clubs free to air. Yet again Scottish fans get shafted when TV deals get negotiated. Can't fail to think this is a short signed own goal by the Pro 15, but as long as the Irish provinces are OK, they probably don't care.

It's no different from Sky doing the same though kelty.
I noticed quite a few Glasgow/Edinburgh games I wanted to see were not being shown on Alba so I don't know what kind of deal Alba had.
I actually subscribe to Premier Sports instead of Sky because I am fanatical about NHL hockey and love the Belgian Football (the most entertaining in Europe imo)
I got rid of the Sky Sports a good few years back as they/Virgin punted the price up almost every year and most of the EPL was p-sh.

Alba showed a game most weeks... Freesport will show maybe one or two across the season. I binned Sky a long time ago, I still have BT since I get a cheap deal through having broadband with them. If I wanted to watch the football I really wanted to, I'd have to get a subscription for this new job Eleven Sports (owned by the Leeds chairman) as they have Serie A (and La Liga) - to watch all the sport this year you'd need FIVE separate subscriptions:
Sky (Premier League, EFL, EFL Cup, Internationals, SPFL, Coppa Italia, MLS, NFL, Major Golf, Test cricket, etc)
BT (Premier League, Bundesliga, Champions League, Europa League, College (American) football, etc)
Premier (European qualifiers, Pro 14 Rugby, Belgian League, GAA, NHL, etc)
Eleven (Serie A, La Liga, Eredivisie, USPGA Golf, soon to take on MMA)
Amazon (Premier League, Men's Tennis)

Kelty, go for Premier Sports at only £9.95/m and you will become an NHL aficionado (and get the rugby.)
I can't guarantee that of course but it has to be the fastest and one of the toughest games there is. I also like how you can be called to answer the bell for your dirty play.
In this game the Canucks made 3 Leaf players pay for foul play. At the end the Leaf goon Martin picked on a much smaller youngster and the Canucks goalie wasn't having it.

By the way the big bully boy taunting all the Canucks bench at the end of the game got sorted out the next time the two teams met by a Canuck who matched him in size.

They've tweeted that they are going to show "up to 10 games a week" and they have the Italian, Spanish and Dutch top flight rights... given that Sky would show 4 Spanish games per weekend, and BT showed 6 games per weekend from Italy (plus both would show midweek fixtures) it looks like less football than before. And it's not on TV as yet so it'll be laptop/tablet/phone...

Kodi not reliable enough for live sports. IPTV is the way forward althought that involves a subscription but can be had sometimes for around £30 a year.

They do B&W blood, and while Sky pander to the Celtic and Sevco masses, BT do a decent job. Daryl Currie and Michael Stewart are a good pair and Sutton has his moments too.
Bertie, ice hockey is one of the few sports I've never taken to. I've tried but I just can't. Maybe it's the difficulty in following the puck, maybe it's because things somehow seem to happen out of nothing or maybe it's something else but I can't watch it when it's on without getting distracted.

Bumping this back up - as predicted the first FreeSport game in the Pro 14 isn't exactly one that will have Scottish fans tuning in to the game in their droves... it's Zebre v Southern Kings.
