This is a sad story. While I admire the couple's sense of adventure, there are clearly some people in some places (or more accurately, all places) that can't be trusted.

Tragic.

I doubt if Tajikistan was on the bucket list for many US tourists before this cruel act - certainly won't be now.

Having said that didn't such acts happen all over the world. London last week and last year and Toronto recently as well spring to mind.
