Debating with a rangers mate in Glenrothes .
Can someone confirm , that there was once a pub just down from the police station roundabout ? I'm being told there wasn't , but I'm sure I had a pint on my way down to the ground many moons ago .
If I'm right . What was it called ?

When they built the new road (does anyone else still call it that?) in about 1984/5 they knocked down The Brig Tavern at the bottom and The Canmore at the top. I only ever knew it as that but wouldn't be at all surprised if it's the same one you're talking about with a different name.

The Park Tavern was just East of the Sinclair Gardens roundabout. The Canmore was about 200 yards East of the Park Tavern, close to the T junction opposite the Public Park.

Two pubs, as above - but I could not have named them from memory.

One was an Usher Vaux tied shop, therefore to be avoided, awful beer.

Not sure what the other was, both usually stowed out on matchdays.

the park shut but the canmore was open for a while after the park shut and was also in the boozer the day Queens fans kicked off with a few nuggets wearing those white type miners hats painted in the clubs colours.
sure i saw HF running down the street during the brawl but me being me hung about and got involved lol to be fair the pars fans did force them out onto the road,HF you should have made me leave lol.
it was mobbed every match day.
because of the new road it was forced to close and the owners moved into town but never really got the football crowd to follow them on match day as it was well handy where it was.

My uncle lived in Couston Street many years ago and I remember him taking me to a wee ice cream shop with a distinctly Italian name which was very close to The Canmore bar.
Anyone remember the name, circa early 60’s ?

Brewster,

The wee Italian place on Appin Crescent was called Bellini's.
