Got a Dolce Gusto Coffee machine for £39.99 from Amazon. Was looking at the same one a couple of months ago in a shop for £110. So pretty happy.

I think folk have realised that a lot of the marketing hype over here really is just hype and as has been publicised on the news quite a bit, a lot of the deals aren't all that.
There's still bargains kicking about but it's not like the US where some of the deals are ridiculous.
I've not had a proper look yet but my girlfriend is excited about finding Brecon Botanicals Gin for £16 on Amazon. It's a good gin and normally sells for a bit more so she's happy.

Heard on Radio 1 news yesterday that a survey showed that in 90% of all Black Friday deals the same items were available at the same price or lower at other points within the same year.

To be fair Black Friday has always existed here but it invariably involved loads of folk who never go out, all going out on the same Friday and then getting nuggets and scrapping each other.

Picked up a Vax slimline hoover thingy at 'er indoors behest in Lidl's this morning, a Black Friday special apparently - significant queue at the door for 8am opening.
I got the last one - the Toshiba 43" HD tellies at £199 went even faster.
