 Scotland v Argentina.

So they missed 4 penalties or they would have won 21 14.
Or 21 19 if we scored our last penalty and converted our try.

Nah! If they scored the first we would have restarted from halfway and the whole pattern of the game would have changed. They might not have got the other 3 or we might have had more opportunities from revised positions. Pundits don't seem to be able to do joined up thinking.

Pretty crap TBH. Wasn't impressed with Scotland. Finn Russell and Hastings posted missing for most of the game.

Truth is this was never gonna be a classic and it could have went either way.
We're no world beaters and the Argentinians are no pushovers.
Job done... But only just... And not a game for the purist 🤔

Ground out a win against tough opponents. Pitch conditions didn’t make for a wide running game.
Breakdown is still a weakness but our defence did well.
Russell, Hastings partnership didn’t work. Latter showed his inexperience under pressure.
Still, we are learning how to win games when not at our best.

The Russell experiment was a failure.

He can't carry the ball which is a number one requirement for an inside centre. Hastings could well oust him from fly half too. Jones was also quiet but that may have been down to Russells lack of effort.

There is one thing though, our forwards need to learn to clear out quicker and get over the ball. We gave up too many from our own possession.

All in all I thought Argentina deserved the win.

Yesterday was an experiment which never worked the right way but then again yesterday was also a look ahead to the World Cup next year as we way we’ll find ourselves having to play the pumas in the knockout rounds if we make it through our pool but watching Scotland beat Argentina for the 5th time in a row was worth missing out on going to Dingwall

Come on ye pars ⚽️
