 Wilder V Fury

Well it's finally here the Bronze bomber V The Gypsy King.Predictions?

Going for Wilder by decision.I think Fury will be too slick to be caught by anything fierce and will survive till the end.

I'm going the other way.I think if it goes the distance Fury will take it by outscoring Wilder.Ultimately it depends if Fury has retained his reflexes and stamina to do it over 12 rounds though. In saying that it's not as if Wilder is used to going the distance either.

I can't ignore Wilder has knocked out everyone he has faced though and I reckon he might win by stoppage.

off to germany for a 24 hour lads trips so hoping to catch it before we fly home.

Really cant decide. Wilder wins if going for all reasons said about Fury's break and although has been in the ring there was more action in the out of the ring fight that he produced in the ring. Fury for all he is clearly mental the last thing he would do is disgrace himself so even if he wasn't ready when the fight was agreed he will train like he never has before and his speed etc will cause wilder problems.

Wilders big shots tend to be pretty clear to see coming however pack enough power to stop opponents. Whether that power is enough to shake Fury will be interesting to watch.

AJ/Hearn already calling out Wilder for a next match-up is clearly playing the mind games a bit

Remarkable the weight he's lost. Looks in as good a shape as he's ever been.

Fury on points in a scrappy, poor to watch fight.

So hard to call....I think Wilder will struggle and get massively frustrated, and Fury will break him down.

Wilder has an immense right hook which happens to be the shot that most troubles Fury. Would love to watch this fight but would never make it to the time that it is scheduled to begin.

Fury on points for me. Only thing worrying is the layoff and ring rust.

Indeed it is however when 212 pounds hits your left temple you'll still go down no matter how big you are.

Meant to add that no matter who wins AJ will be rubbing his hands. What a payday. Having said that most Americans don't know even who Wilder is. Athletically the best Americans are black and they can make a more lucrative and safer living from NFL and NBA thus the decline in interest in heavyweight boxing stateside over the last decade or so.

You are right.that's all it takes is one well landed punch.I think Fury will be very cagey though.Ortiz timed wilder a few times(and had him in real trouble at one point)when he came in and i think fury will try the same tactics.

Fury bossed it for majority, Wilder just throwing wild punches into fresh air most of the time.

But when he did connect Fury went down.

Don't forget the British judge assessed it as 113-113.

Fury's post match presser was brilliant. At the end he led the audience in a rendition of American Pie.

So you had it a relatively narrow win for Fury. Hardly a great leap from that to understand that anothers opinion may have had it going the other way.

Did Fury not het put on his bottom twice though?

That would be 2x 10-8 rounds to Wilder... what about the other 10? One diddy had wilder 4-0 up after 4 rounds! Should never judge any bout pro or amateur again.

So explain the British judge that judged it a draw? Lol

Explain the ride who had 115-111 wilder...

You can't explain stupid. Biggest bottle job in Britain, although probably lives in america and works for showtime.

The reaction of the WORLD to the decision tells you everything you need to know.

Having been involved in boxing for many years it's the worst I've ever seen on a major stage. I had 114 - 112 fury tbh.

Exactly.

I went to bed 9pm and up fresh to watch it.

Went back to bed suitably disgusted (50 quid on Fury points decision at 12/5).

With any dubious decisions i always try and watch back from an alternative perspective incase of any bias; did it starting from Calzaghe v Hopkins and it is amazing the 'spin' from commentary can cloud judgement on fights.

Regardless of that even watching HBO/Showtime they still had it in Fury's favour. 114-112 i had it also; you can see someone giving it a draw - at a push - but how the hell someone had Wilder by four points defies belief.

Apparently Mayweather was ringside and just shook his head and walked away when the scores were announced.

There have been a few beauties over the years.Recently GGG V Canelo 1.

One of the most egregious was Paul Williams v Erislandy Lara.Williams corner wanted to stop it in the 11th round as he was taking major punishment. He got the decision.

It's difficult getting a decision on away soil.

Whilst it's a result that shouldn't have been, if Fury didn't get caught twice in that bout he would have won it, really didn't help his cause.
