Stumbled across this band on Spotify - Pretty unique sound a I really like what I’ve listened to so far (mostly the Endless Forms most beautiful album). Anyone on here a fan?

Love Nightwish. Great band. Saw them in Glasgow years ago. Imaginarium is a great album and there is also a whole film to accompany it.

Just you and me I guess moviescot. The current singer is an absolutely unbelievable talent, and I've heard that her predecessor was even better??
Haven't listened to Imaginarium at all - will give it a whirl over the next few days. Cheers for the tip.
What are they like Live - looks like I just missed them in London :(. Worth looking out for next time around?

Big Nightwish fan, they’ve had 3 singers so far.
Floor, the current one is the most powerful, Annette before her was the more poppy type and Tarja the original the more operatic and the albums tend to follow the singer’s voice.
Floor is probably the best all round but Tarja is possibly still the most popular with fans even now, but they’re all good.
Once is my favourite album, one of Tarja’s

Always like a bit of Nightwish! Anette Olzon who was the second singer lives in Helsingborg over here - seen her walking around a few times! Also a Nurse too I've heard.
If you like them, have a look at Epica - their singer Simone Simons can sing!
One I discovered recently from the US too is Oceans of Slumber - a bit more proggy with a Black lassy singing which is quite unusual in the Metal world. Some voice on her!

They were great live. It was Anette who was the singer at the time. Although I liked Tarja her operatic singing was not really to my taste. There are several good but tracks from her though.
Current singer is good but I did like Anette Olsen (who has a solo album). Dark passion play and Once are also excellent albums. Well worth getting them all

Each to their own. I would say that since Tarja left they have become less symphonic and more rock. Not completely removed from symphonic but certainly progressing. Their newer stuff is worth a listen imo.

Cheers mate - top song that. The operatic section in the break is absolutely amazing. Gotta see this lot live I reckon - wonder if it can top Rammstein?

Sorry to bump this but if you're wondering what happened to the prop used in Still Game for Big Innnis' ginormous joaby, then wonder no more. Nightwish bought it to use as a mic stand.

On a serious note, that's taken from the Vehicle Of Spirit DVD which is superb. Have to say I love Symphonic Rock, surprised nobody has mentioned Within Temptation. Other recommendations are Beyond The Black and Amberian Dawn.
If you're a fan of Floor Jansen, the band she was in before Nightwish was After Forever who she recorded 6 albums with. I've not got around to listening to them yet but they were recommended to me.
