 Drummer for hire

Saw a Classic Album episode a year or so ago about the recording of the Beach Boys "Pet Sounds.
Surprised to learn much of the actual backing to the vocals was provided
by the Wrecking Crew, comprised of session guitarists etc plus the drummer featured here.
Reading some his obits, amazing, played on thousands of recordings,
8 Emmys including 6 straight years with six different artists.
Also seven marriages - where did he get the time!

Like the quip in one of his obituaries.
Guy with the Knack was telling him about a dozen of his favourite drummers “he was disappointed to learn they were all me!”
