BBC is reporting that Ranking Roger has passed away, apparently after recent diagnosis of two brain tumours and lung cancer.
Aged 56
Vocalist with The Beat, and General Public.

He did some dancing on that stage. Seems like he had a really tough time in later years
Met him when the Beat played the Ballroom in around 1980 and the band had their tea in the Brunswick.

Saw him last summer at Doon the Rabbit Hole when he was singing with his son in the band as well.

It's not a scene I ever really got massively into, but I still reckon bands like the specials, the beat, madness, the selector broke down so many boundaries in the 70s and 80s. Rest in peace.

So much energy on stage and an entertainer.
