''I purchased a chair from amazon. The chair broke in 2 months. No refund and no help from amazon. I lost the money.''
I'm sure one of our resident posters Will explain why you didn't get the refund

Amazon prime gives you free shipping and some real quality on demand high budget original tv shows. Think it’s around £70 a year.
Use camel camel camel to track the price of items you are interested in on amazon and it will notify you of price drops etc. Great for getting the run in when it drops.
The warehouse deals are pretty good too.
As a free tip, add a pre order computer game to your order to push it over £20 for free shipping, once your main item has arrived cancel the preorder. Easy.

Re the original question...I would say NO. The trouble with modern day society is that everyone wants shopping to be fast, cheap and convenient. Despite its flaws, Amazon ticks all of these boxes for the average punter. Unfortunately, nobody cares about small/family run businesses and/or long term sustainability.

I will be buying from factory/brand websites. Make your decision.
Smartphone from samsung.com, clothes from puma.com etc..
I agree, we have to see the shipping service directly from the factory.
I buy from Amazon all the time. I have sent many things back to them for various reasons. The most recent being a mobile phone. I initially contacted the manufacturer but they were going to take 6 months to fix. I sent it back to Amazon who replaced even before I had sent it back.
