 Petrol strimmer

Don't know if anyone else can answer this or if I'm just being daft.
If the pull cord starter on a petrol strimmer is stuck out how do you get it to retract back in as I can't seem to manage to get it to catch

Take it down to Plummer Brothers in Inverkeithing... If they still exist of course.
They are/were pretty good when I used them.
It was a while ago though.

Depends what make it is, if its a b&q / cheap brand they probably won't touch it... I had a petrol lawnmower from b&q and they wouldn't entertain servicing it
