My daughter is 21 broontroot , passed her test a couple of months ago and got insured on her own policy with no black box fitted for under 1k.
I will ask her when she comes in from work what company and let you know around 6pm mate

East End Park is a symbol of all that is DAFC.

She said it was admiral insurance broontroot, we just put her information into confused.com and that was by far the cheapest.

If you put yourself down as a named driver it should bring it down some

Directline do a no claims for named drivers as well as the main driver.

Yeah but directline are also one of the dearest for young drivers... Or they used to be anyway.
I've used Hastings direct for the last 3 years without any problems but no idea what they would quote for a youngster.
Only advice I'd give is don't put your laddie down as named driver if he's going to be the main driver. Insurers are getting wise to such malarkey.
Only other advice I personally would give is buy a cheap motor... Cos chances are it will get dinged/scraped etc in the first year of driving.

I never knew that.
Weird as admiral were over £100 dearer than Hastings when I first got a quote... But that's the world of insurance for ye 😂
Most expensive quote I've ever had was from LV... They wanted 3x what the car was worth

I think I was 23 when I passed, and got insurance through First Central. They were about half the price of the next cheapest at circa £550 for the year. That was to insure a 2 year old 1.2 fiesta, without anyone else named on the policy or a black box. I'm sure they will still be on comparison sites, but might be worth a look.
