i'm taking my youngest and friends through to a concert in the SSEE Hyrdro and hangning around to bring them home afterwards - but not sure where best to go and park during that time.
so i'm sure there's folk on here attended events there and thought i'd ask couple of questions...
Is the parking good there (and can you get out quickly or is it one of these places where you can spend 1hr trying to just get out the car park)?
If parking bad, is there a hotel or somewhere nearby where i could park, go in and get a coffee or a bite to eat (happy to sit and watch film on tablet) and meet them afterwards so we can just zoom off?
Cheers
PS - it's a Friday evening if that makes any difference?

Park at the Crown Plaza. Two minutes walk from everything. Costs about £7 approx and you'll get out straight away.

I’ve always parked at the science centre and walked across the footbridge over the Clyde to the crowne plaza. Used to be £3 but I haven’t parked there for a while now.

Been there many times waiting on my daughter too. You can park for free in one of the streets off A814 which runs back towards the motorway - Lancefield Street. It is about a 15 min walk to Hydro from there, but you’ll be back on the motorway really quickly.
It’s possible to walk into town, grab a drink and a wander back in the time, or there’s a bar/coffee shop at the SEC. plenty of other restaurants nearby too.

I usually park on Holdsworth Street when I'm there.
Not too far to walk and free.

Thanks guys for all input. Think I'll take the combined advice... park nearby, walk them to venue and agree meeting point, head into town and get a decent bite to eat and then wander back to meet them (then back to car and away!)

Elliott Square just at anderson primary school. Free parking, 5/10 mins walk to venue, close to Finnieston if you wanted to pop into somewhere for food/drink whilst you waited and very close to 2 entrances onto the M8 to be heading back east.

I park at the Science Centre, but use the pay machine inside the Reception of the centre. Everyone else queues at the outside machine.
Saying that, I haven't been in a year and theyve maybe updated how you pay to an app.

Best place to park is directly adjacent to the Science Centre, there is a road parallel to it which is office space with about 100+ spaces and no restrictions.
Get in and out very easily and no hassles queuing at the end.
I'd also strongly suggesting giving the Broomielaw a miss as they've recently filtered the 'squinty bridge' to one-way traffic and reduced 50% of that to buses and taxis only. Turn right when you leave and come back round Ibrox Stadium and on the M8 there.
I've attached a screenshot of the map below.

I've worked/parked in that area for 10+ years including Rangers home games and it's definitely the best bet especially if you want to get away quickly after wards.
