Our bin blew over in all that recent wind and the bin lid had snapped off.
Will fife council replace that if I phone up or will they try to make me pay for a new one (and if it's the latter, is there anything I can say to get it at no extra cost - give them enough money already!)?

Who owns the bin? You or the council?

Bins are replaced or repaired free. One of mine disappeared and when I phoned she told me bins sometimes go right into the refuse lorry.Another time a damaged lid was repaired.

They'll replace it for free. Don't know what they do in Dunfermline but in Edinburgh they would give the resident a new bin and take the old one away for repair.

Most of the blue lids seem to break off on one side. A couple of meccano strips secured mine.
