Massive shame for all the staff and all the connections it gave in the UK.
Good decision not to give them the £100m.
English government couldn't give the money due to being tied to EU rules, pity Blojo hadn't checked it out.

They could have given them the £100m loan but chose not to after Flybe couldn't meet certain conditions attached to it although I haven't seen what they are.
The lack of investment from the owners is more of an indication for me that the Government might actually be on the right side of the decision this time although it sucks for all the staff at risk.

Generally their fares were pretty expensive, so no surprise their planes were half empty a lot of the time
As always, the real losers are the employees who will not get the bare minimum from the government some time down the line

Had to do a chargeback of my summer flybe flights with my credit card company yesterday, and rebook elsewhere.
New flights costing much more than the flybe ones.
Seems some of the flybe staff will be employed by Loganair, which is good.

Why is it that the French government can put money into Renault and PSA, but we are not allowed to help an airline. We are not in the EU but France is.

Stobart air seem to be struggling as well. Landing slots are worth more than people think and with virgin with fingers in a few pies won't loose sleep over it. After seeing over 50 staff at the airport over the last few days its a shame something couldn't have worked out. Ba have now confirmed they have bought all of flybe Heathrow slots so only way to go there is with ba unfortunately.

I'm at Luton airport now and it's very quiet.

Seemingly Virgin Atlantic flying empty planes to keep their landing slots, EU supposedly lifting regulations to resolve the issue.
