Can you claim for loss of earnings or additional holidays to be taken for a delay?

Think more and more will be in bother soon as it would appear most countries out this way are stopping foreigners from entering their countries.
Vietnam started the trend last week. It is obviously proving to be a logistical nightmare for airlines as if they can't bring foreigners in there will be no planes to take people ready to leave home.
The Thai government is being very strict, all foreigners arriving must have a health certificate saying no risk to COVID-19 and must be issued within last 72hrs,also if no insurance specifically to cover $100,000 of COVID-19 treatment you will be refused entry.
For Thai returning back home it's worse.
They need a COVID-19 letter also but they need to take it to a Thai consulate or embassy to have it stamped and authenticated.

Qatar airways are exploiting people with pre-booked seats by dumping them off flights and selling their seats for £1500 for economy and £4500 to London only from Phuket via Bangkok and Doha - a 40 hour trip and leaving Brits stranded
an absolute disgrace

Qatar waived the change fees and let me move my flight from Vietnam forward several days to let me get home 10 days ago before things got too frantic. Only had to pay the difference in fare which was $16 for 2 of us.

If the airline offers you a refund you should Decline it.
If you accept they no longer have a duty of care for you.
Declining means they are responsible for arranging an alternative flight and they are also liable for any costs incurred in your delay.
