Depends what is wrong.I changed my input valve and flush mechanism pretty easily by myself.Only need to close the in supply with a screwdriver, empty the cistern and unscrew them.

Hi GZ. Flushed my lavvy and the black bar that lifts the mechanism to pull the flush has sheared off.

I’m no expert but that looks like your syphon is knackered. You’ll need to get a new one. I’m no sure which of the plumbers that come here are still working. If you have a brand and size of the syphon you could order it. I think they’re pretty straightforward to install. Sorry I can’t be of more help mate.

Had to replace ours myself. Good videos on YouTube but as zod says it is much easier if you can replace like for like.
If you aren't confident and can't get anyone out to fix it then I would definitely recommend leaving it and just flushing with a bucket of water, personally.

My shower head reaches the lavvy so I’ll use that for now. Thanks for the input, stay safe

Looks like the link to piston broken.
Identify the make and model from markings on top, the main body is in 2 parts, blue circular collar is where it splits.
You can get replacement on Amazon delivered to you, follow youtube vids and should be easy.
Only spec will be height of siphon, this is indicated at base of main body (rear) just above where the water flushes out. Will be 7.5, 8,9 or 10.
Looks like a Derwent Macdee Metro 3 part, that's fitted, they come with instructions and are on YouTube.
I ain't a plumber BTW.
