 PC Screen Capture Software

Thought I'd trust the wisdom of .net here for recommendations:

I was trying to get ahold of a screen-capture software to do some video making. Just wondered if anyone could recommend a good free or low cost one that also records the sound at the same time?

I use hypercam or hypercam 2. It records sound. I then use handbrake to shrink the massive files created by hypercam 😳
