If anyones bins are getting full you can take your plastic and cardboard to the large bins in the big asda car park
Bit off a faff but you can nip in to asda b and m for essentials at the same time

but dont be a d!ck and dump it on the road/next to the bins if the bins are full as it will just blow away. Christmas is especially bad for this.

The large bins just got emptied yesterday and you can lift the lids up so you don't have to push your plastic bottles etc through the wee holes on top

Lots of fly tipping going on, even in broad daylight.
We have a skip at work that can’t get taken away. We have had a fridge freezer, fencing, cement and paint dumped in it.
Absolute scum

My wife and I have noticed lots of thin poly gloves thrown away in a variety of places, including next to litterbins, when we go out for our daily walk.

Sad that some folk have no sense of social or moral responsibility.

And where is this skip? Asking for a friend 😉

I've taken excess plastic/card up to Tesco. Most of the villages round Dunfermline will have these bins too. The bins lifting up is convenient but the purpose of them being locked and having a small opening is to stop idiots chucking bin bags filled with landfill in.

You should see some of the stuff that gets chucked in the Lyne burn in the Rex Park, aside from all the ASDA trolleys. Just before it goes under Blacklaw Rd, there's a sofa in it, which the dumpers had to lift up over a 5ft steel fence.

Imagine it's bad just now with the dump being closed.

Exactly. Why is the dump closed? Surely social distancing can be observed there ??

I realise the the bin emptying may be disrupted but I cant understand why the council website cant be kept up to date. Our green bucket day was changed 4 times and we got our info from facebook. Website is still wrong and if ever a job could be done from home, its updating a website. Bucket is still out 3 days later waiting to be emptied.

It wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if the bin pages are controlled by a database that's only accessible when on the council network.
