Like me you probably thought a headline like this would apply to some tinpot country with a dictator looking to weaponsie the State for their own objectives and you'd be absolutely correct as that is exactly what the UK has voted to do:
Fortunately instead of killing or raping someone on behalf of a Government agency actually being considered illegal (in the same way it is for us mere mortals), there will be a code of conduct to make sure nothing untoward happens so we should all be OK.
Labour abstaining shows the direction they're heading back to.
Shameful but ultimately what we collectively voted to do to ourselves.

Have they ever actually voted on anything apart from the Smith Commission report and voting there against every teeny thing for Scotland.

Starmer is shaping up to be Blair Mark 2. The armed forces immunity from being prosecuted for torture could prove useful if he ever ends up in 10 Downing Street and invades some country to prove his patriotic credentials.
The move to condone illegal acts for MI5/6 operatives- purely when acting for a greater good of course- is poorly timed given that the UK government has been outraged at Russia’s alleged poisoning of Navalny.

Labour abstaining on key votes like this, is why I will never vote for them again. I voted for them every time for about 15 years but its a waste of a vote now. They are not really an opposition party. It exposes how we don't really have a choice who is going to form the UK Government. It's a pretence
