 Facebook ban for hate speech.

Earlier today I was handed a 3 day ban from Facebook after someone reported me for hate speech.

I posted on a live stream by radio Scotland of Kate Adams show which was talking about legislation being introduced around the sex industry and prostitution.

My comment was that prostitutes are more honest, they want some of your money. But get married and they want all of your money.

Now I have no doubt some people may have been offended by the comment but hate speech? Get a grip.

Anyway I appealed it and 12 hours later was let out of Facebook jail.

Who actually goes out of their way to report something as hate speech when it clearly isn't?

Was that all you said word for word?

And although my eyes were open
They just might as well be closed

They were talking about sex workers so I started with "All women sell sex"

Still not hate speak and I've had ban lifted so it's clearly not.
Maybe derogatory to women in general but not hate.

So you're suggesting all women are gold-diggers?

Not really, no.
Can see how you would interpret it that way.

More that men get married generally with the notion that sex is part of the deal.
Much of the time these men who previously had a significant disposable income find their personal finances become somewhat reduced.
It's a huge generalisation but hate speech. Come on.

I think most women also get married thinking that sex is part of the deal and not in the sense that it is some sort of chore to be fulfilled.

"I think hope most women also get married thinking that sex is part of the deal and not in the sense that it is some sort of chore to be fulfilled."

Maybe early on...

Correct. I've not said otherwise.

The point I'm making is that what I said was maybe offensive, very inaccurate and could be seem as accusing women of being gold diggers as joke maybe thought. It is not hate speech and for someone to report it as such is out of order.

Realise it's a generalisation but can also see why it would be interpreted as being malicious (hate speech seems extreme) if there was no context.

Sex could be assumed but that's suggesting it's only men who enjoy sex!

The context was it was on a chat of the live stream of Kay Adams show. There were some pretty nasty comments there about prostitutes from women so I was trying to redress the balance.
I'm guessing one of the women took offence and reported me for hate speech.
Was it malicious? Maybe. I was trying to get at the women who were looking down their notes at sex workers.

"I`m guessing one of the women took offence and reported me for hate speech."

There`s no shortage of punters out there waiting to take offence where none is intended - generally because your opinion is at odds with theirs.

I'm of a view that people should treat everyone fairly but this always makes me chuckle.
