 State of recycling points
Topic Originator: jake89

Was just up at ASDA and there's cardboard everywhere. I easily got mine in as it was pre-flattened but there's loads of TV boxes just been dumped outside the bins. One person seems to be so unbelievably ignorant that they didn't even take their address off the box (slow clap to a guy in Crossford who recently got himself a new telly).

Were we always such a town of manky buggers or is this a new thing?

I was at the recycling at Tesco this morning and it was equally manky with cardboard.
Imho the council need to wake up to the fact that many people do a lot more online shopping at this time of year and either up the capacity temporarily or empty them more regularly. This doesn't excuse the morons that just dump their rubbish there when there's no space though.

Have the tips still got restrictions on what they are accepting?

Do you still need an appointment?

You can book an appointment online, up to 3 trips a week. So as long as you have internet access, there is no excuse for being manky.

PS There is also a breakdown on what they will accept online.

Booking online takes seconds. It's actually more convenient as you know you'll be straight in and no waiting about. I've used it a few times and no issues.

The people dumping at the recycling points are just manky sods.

Last time I booked and went down to tip it was only landfill skips that were in use, I hoped that they had expanded their services.

LA, I went to Dalgety Bay a few weeks back and was able to dump wood, metal and landfill no bother. I think most all the materials are accepted as long as you/you and your passenger can chuck it in yourself.

👍 Had been burning cardboard in a garden incinerator, would rather recycle it.

The point at Duloch Tesco was seemingly cleared for free by Recycle Wysely with Recycle Fife (Purvis Group) taking it for nothing. Great effort. Hope the selfish dumpers get named and shamed for being widtinks (no offence widtink 😉)
