My dad ( and quite a few other pars fans ) are currently on strike at British Gas at the moment. If they do not sign new much weaker contracts by 31st March they get sacked. They don’t want anything extra, just fire/rehire removed so they can get back to fixing elderly vulnerable customers at these difficult times. Please if you can on social media support our cause.

Disgraceful from a big profit making company. I know a couple of their engineers and they not only are key workers going to customers homes to keep them warm, but helped Dunfermline Foodbanks during lockdown. I’ll be taking my business elsewhere if this goes through.

Same here. We use them for Homecare. Engineer last year was great. I'll cancel if this is what they're upto. They'll also be losing out on a chance of fitting a new boiler.

Yeah I see it’s all over Twitter and Facebook under that hashtag. Thousands of engineers posting they just want fire/rehire removed so they can get back to work.

Totally unacceptable what they are being asked to do and fair play for having the balls to commit to a 5 day walkout.
They are a very profitable company and the only people going onto the new terms should be anyone hired in the future.
I work for one of the biggest employers in the country and I have people doing the same job as me working more hours for less money and less holidays but at least they knew what these terms were before starting.

It’s all over social media but seems to be a Mainstream media blackout for some reason. Likely political I ask as unusual to get no coverage for a national strike??

My dad and his colleagues are quite annoyed as footage was leaked showing British Gas boss appearing to net net win about it not being in mainstream news due to Covid/Trump.
For those on Twitter there’s a Twitter storm 6.30pm -7.30pm tonight for the closing of initial 5 day strike. More strike dates to follow.
Please support if you can #StopTheBritishGasFire thanks in advance fellow pars

A neighbour of mine chucked his job with them last spring after getting really annoyed with the way he had been treated.
