Anybody know of any reasonable places for a quick loan of 100 quid. I am waiting for 100 quid to come my way from music magpie and CEX but I`m having to wait longer than expected due to these companies working with less staff and I need the money to pay back family and for a one off purchase.
The ones I`ve looked at all seem pretty dodgy with mad admin charges and whatnot.
Any advice appreciated.

Have you tried using a free credit reference site like clear score or credit karma?
They should be able to taylor your application to a loan site or possibly 0% credit card that would probably work out cheaper than a pay day loan. Quite a few loans pay out immediately on acceptance too.
If not Money Savings Expert has a guide on some of the best sites. The sites I used to use are all out of business:
https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/loans/payday-loans/
Credit Unions are another option but you'd need to join one.

Can you not just put a £100 on your bank account as an overdraft then pay it off straight away as soon as you get your money?. I get overdraft options all the time when I log onto my online banking

Sorry mate didn't mean to overload you with options, was genuinely trying to throw out different options that should be cheaper than a payday loan. As the poster above says a temporary overdraft bump is probably the best option but if you can't do that with your bank the Monzo app is something you can apply for over your phone and it's really simple to see if you can get the over draft.

What a gesture if real(no email for you raymie mate) . I`d put up collateral if any of you were serious.
It`s just that music magpie and CEX are being particularly slow with testing my stuff and transferring my money.
I would definitely pay it back ASAP though, and I`d give out my address, maybe give you my ps4 as collateral. That`s worth 143 in cex
Email sent to jbob. Raymie has no email info.

Just to let jbob and raymie know, krf is an all right sort. I`ve known him pretty much all my life and his only fault is his terrible sense of humour. And his "fashion". And his taste in music (heaven knows what he`ll be able to sell to Music Magpie?). But apart from that... ;)

Jealousy cuz, I`m as cool as Kurt Cobaine and my taste in alternative rock would make Q magazine give me an award.
It`s actually my ps4 headset I sold to MM, it gives me motion sickness.
My jokes are rubbish though, I`ll give you that.
To do something like this for a stranger just humbles me to no end.

This was a nice thing to do. Well done.
I wonder if we could make it a bit bigger?
15-20 of us put in £100 a head. Fellow pars fans come to us for small interest free loans, to be paid back in a short timescale.
2 or 3 people running it on behalf of the 15-20 people who put money up.
Some people have next to nothing at the moment. I put an old laptop on Facebook marketplace yesterday for free, having anonymised it, and put windows 10 on, stuck it in an old laptop bag, etc.
I put it on with the condition it was for a kid to do homework, not to be resold. I got 25 requests for it in 30 mins. Now with a woman who was homeschooling 2 kids with only access to a phone.

It's a brilliant idea mate. I'd chip in if this grows legs. I'm actually a bit embarrassed I didn't think to offer to the lend the cash in the first place.

I have an old laptop gathering dust. Never occurred to me to give it to some deserving child.
I’m going to fish it out and try to scrub all the personal stuff.
Is there a program that would do that whilst keeping the OS ?

Assuming it's got Windows on it, you should be able to reset the machine to factory settings while scrubbing the data. Look in the control panel for factory reset, something like that. That's all I did.
Edit....on my Windows 10 machine I typed "reset this PC" into the search bar, and from there it's easy.

Nothing to be embarrassed about. I didn't either.
If anyone thinks this is a good idea, post here. We can, as LPF says, see if this has legs.
Edit - actually, I'll make a new thread....might be easier for people to see what's going on.
