Just discovered this.
I find it very frustrating when someone posts a link to a newspaper article and I can't read it because its stuck behind a paywall.
Well you can still read the article if you go to the address bar and type in
outline.com/
before the url of the page you are trying to read.
It also then creates a handy link that you can share to other people where the article is no longer behind a paywall.

Using it yourself is entirely legal.
I think if you share the link it generates that bypasses the paywall on a public forum then you may be on dodgy ground.

An alternative way that works sometimes is to press the escape key in the half second or so that you get between the article loading and the paywall blocking it. Doesn`t work for them all but it`s always worth a shot.

"I think if you share the link it generates that bypasses the paywall on a public forum then you may be on dodgy ground."
What about sharing the procedure to get around it ?
I`ll understand if you plead the 5th amendment !!!

I will explain again trying to make it clearer with an example.
OK let's say you wanted to read this story.
https://www.heraldscotland.com/news/19080275.milestone-reached-one-million-scots-receive-first-vaccine-dose/
But you find you have viewed 3 articles from the Herald this month already so its now sat behind a paywall.
Type in outline.com/
before the url of the webpage.
So it would now read
outline.com/https://www.heraldscotland.com/news/19080275.milestone-reached-one-million-scots-receive-first-vaccine-dose/
It then allows you to read the article.

I did share the procedure.
I think VEE was enquiring whether it is legal to share the procedure to get round it.

Outline.com is perfectly legal. It's just it's being used in an unintended way. Same was how you can access a lot of restricted sites using Incognito mode.
