cold callers about boiler - potential scammers?

i`ve just had to blokes from union something or other at my door talking about boiler grants

shut them down quick as i don`t do business on the doorstep but afterwards thinking it must be a scam so beware... there`s no way in the middle of a pandemic, a company would send two folk out to go round the doors drumming up business for non-essential work

Was doing a session on the bike at lunchtime and spotted a van bumping up the kerb outside our house. couple of guys got out one looked pretty smart with trousers/shirt the other a bit more casual with jeans. stood outside the house for 2-3 mins sorting facemasks/clip boards etc after the van drove off. Moved across the street and had a cigarette before walking up into the cul-de-sac.

20 mins later our door went and heard a bit of the similar spiel you mentioned about boilers etc.
