More evidence - if any was needed - that human intelligence is finite, but stupidity isn't.

It's interesting to note that Merseyside police were able to disperse the crowd, whereas Police Scotland chose to play a low key, almost tacit, role in the recent celebrations outside Ibrox and in George Square.......

Emmm - Greyskull was where the good guys lived...
No, there is not a fascination with sevco, there is an accurate and fair continual complaint about the never ending acceptance and tolerance of their neanderthal supporters and their (usually drunken and violent) actions by the so-called authorities - a tolerance that doesn`t seem to be afforded to any other groups.

"Same in Glasgow yesterday as well

I notice the lack of arrests though in comparison to the 28 who were arrested during or after the George Square `gathering`."
I don`t think you can use the number of arrests as the only yardstick to measure how assertive or tolerant the different police forces were at each illegal gathering, TOWK.
Yesterday, the police in Glasgow and Liverpool managed to disperse the crowds with what appears to have been a minimum of arrests, suggesting most people heeded their requests. At Clapham Common, there appears to have been some indignation and resentment to the presence of the Met. Scuffles broke out and a few people ended up in hand cuffs. The Met have been widely criticised for their allegedly heavy handed approach.
On two consecutive days outside Ibrox, a crowd of fans was allowed to gather and relatively few arrests were made given the rowdy nature of the fans. On the Sunday, Police Scotland even escorted the crowd to George Square, where they were allowed to continue their celebrations until late, smashing up a few benches along the way.
There`s definitely a lack of consistency there, imo.
