Sad to hear that toun legend Eck Paton has passed away. It used to be the highlight of Sunday Sesh's and Sinky's Jam Sessions when Eck got up to play and let out his unmistakable cackle

Sad news. Me and my wife still talk about going to the Thursday night sessions at Sinkys 20 years ago. It was a great time. Some brilliant music.

He had a laugh that could penetrate walls and be heard at 100 paces against the prevailing wind. Eck belongs to the lore of the town, and will be remembered fondly by a lot of people. That said, Eck did well to stick around for as long as he did - I think many of us might have expected news like this a long time back. Safe onward journey Eck. 👍

Was he the guy that had long curly hair and glasses? Looked a bit like Ian Hunter from Mott the Hoople ? Or am I thinking of wrong Eck.

Agree with that. He did remarkably well considering his lifestyle
It`s bloody tough being a legend
