Just got a renewal quote from Scottish Gas. They want £35 a month for a fairly basic plan. Their top plan, which includes electrics and plumbing is £23 a month....... for new customers. Any alternative ideas?

auldpar ... Ive been with Ideal Boilers for years on the Platinum service which includes all parts and labour plus yearly service I would need to go to the desktop to check the monthly price as it has crept up over the years .. but we have had loads of thermostats on the radiators, electric timer, zone valves etc. replaced with no quibble It covers everything as far as I`m aware

Scottish Gas should wear face masks, long after the pandemic is a distant memory.

We are on a Corgi homeplan deal - £22 odds monthly, well pleased with cover and service.
They are based in Dunfermline for this region.

£35 a month? You would be as well putting that into a savings account each month and self insuring

We have the BG plan but sure it's £25 or something. I read a while back you're better just to put what you would spent aside and hope for no issues. Works out cheaper, generally.
Definitely don't take BG up on their £500 off a new boiler deal. They'll be at least a grand more than the likes of AM Reid.
