Anyone been to see No Time to Die yet (try to not give spoilers)?
It’s decent but conflicted on it, the inter connectivity is always the weakest part of Daniel Craig Bond movies and Rami Malek wasn’t a great villain for me, he was ok but not great, same with the main henchman.
Some mandatory box ticking done too.
Middle ranking Bond film imo which will be very divisive but makes the Daniel Craig era a singular self contained Bond story I suppose.

I enjoyed it, but I am easily pleased.
Malek`s character was a bit disappointing and they probably could have cut 20 minutes off the film without losing anything important, but the rest of it was good.
I`m glad to see you have called it a middle-ranking Bond film. Most of the reviews seem to be calling it the best or worst Bond film ever, but it clearly isn`t either of these.

Seen it last night and really enjoyed it.
I watched it for entertainment rather than to critique it. I’ll save that for the next watch.

so would i need to watch the previous one before going..
i don`t mind bond films, but like all these sort of things, i tend to `switch off` and just be entertained... for example, i can`t remember one thing about the last one

DBP it’s connected in the same way Marvel films tend to be connected so in other words there are continued stories but you can just jump in and enjoy it in its own right as it’s not that important.
Lots of really great action scenes and usual Bond narrative- dastardly baddy with global plan must be stopped.

They said on the radio this morning that its a very long film... But I didn't catch how long.
So how long is it?..
Never really been a Daniel Craig fan masel... But I'll still probably watch it eventually.
And who's in the running for the next Bond?..
Is Idris Elba still in the running?
I think he'd make a great Bond.

It is around the 2 hours 40 minute mark Widders.
Elba, who is now 48 I think, is maybe a bit too old now to play Bond if you consider that the producers might want the actor to play him for the next fifteen years.
And although my eyes were open
They just might as well be closed

Never knew he was that old.... So any news on possible new bond?
Or is it a big secret 🤔

Loads of candidates. I`d go for Richard Madden (Rob Stark in Got) or Sam Heughan (the guy from the Outlander show) just because they are Scottish.

Is it time for a female Bond?

They claim not to have started looking yet. I imagine as it’s a full reboot they probably need a storyline and possibly even a director before they get to casting.
Quote last week;
“But as producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G Wilson braved the rain at the Royal Albert Hall for the world premiere of the long-awaited film, the pair confirmed the hunt for the next 007 had not yet begun”

The character is specifically written as a male. Why does this question even get asked?Should the next Mrs Marple be played by a man?

Yeah it's just doesn't make sense. The character is a British, heterosexual, middle-aged male. Change 1 of these and it's not James Bond.
You can't get a 21 year old to do it and you can't get a woman to do it.
I'd even go as far as say the actor has to have a British accent. Any hint of the accent being wrong would ruin it.

Why do they need to? 007 in this movie is a female already so if that character is successful they can spin off her own movie and let it stand on her own.
Or is the suggestion that female characters cannot be strong enough to exist in their own right without attaching some male IP to it?

Brilliant. Let's make Tom Hardy the next Wonder Woman.

It’s inevitable, it will happen at some point soon, it will be Bond……Jane Bond.

Perhaps it's time for a transexual Bond?
All of the Bonds have been white so far, so it can't be a white man next time

Or maybe a more realistic bond?
I remember watching a programme on the Israeli folks and they were all normal looking blokes... The route that no one works fine a second glance to...
So I'd like a middle age, chubby, balding bond

Predictive text is a nightmare! 😂
I’d like to see the next bond look like the sort of guy no one would even give a second glance to - someone like Toby Jones
