Have some memories of family playing this way back with 2 piles of pennies etc. Caused great excitement. Anyone ever played it?

Yes. I remember the name and the fact it was usually played around Christmas or New Year when you had visitors but as for the rules etc. i can`t remember how it went!

Yeah, Newmarket was played alot in our family when we were growing up.
A lot of good times had.
As with Auldpar I can't remember the rules.

Played constantly by our family. Usually we called it “Horsey”.

Never heard of the Newmarket game but we had the horse racing equivalent of Monopoly.

Used to play it a lot when I was a kid. We always used smarties or jelly tots instead of money.
