A whirlybird was really somethin`then. They wereny gaun aboot like ye often see choppers now. And ye didny have them at Regattas and things where ye can get tae fly in them nowadays. They were a rarity. A bit special. Like a Pars victory noo.

I have only the vaugest of dim memories of "Whirylbirds" - wee remembered.

Another contemporary series was "Sea Hunt" - with the patriarch of the Bridges acting clan in the lead.

Roger Moore as Ivanhoe: all I remembered of the start was `Ivanho - oh! Ivanho -oh!

Makes ye laugh - we used tae watch that stuff a` the time. Young folk lookin` at it now must think we were soft in the heid.

Sir Roger, he wiz a bonny lad.

A never kent he wis Maverick (1960-61):

I`m enjoying the re-runs of `the Saint` that are on these days - and `the Avengers`.

`Sea Hunt`: I had to look it up. Funny how there`s some ye just don`t remember, although Lloyd Bridges is instantly recognisable to me.
1958 - 61 - and Wikipedia says: `A number of notable actors appeared on the series early in their career, including Leonard Nimoy, Bruce Dern, Robert Conrad, Ross Martin, Robert Clarke, Larry Hagman, Larry Pennell, Ken Curtis, William Boyett, Jack Nicholson, and Bridges` own sons Beau and Jeff.`

What d`you remember about it EastEnder?

I just mind Lloyd Bridges spent a lot of the show parading around in his swim kit !!!

It was very popular in its day.
