 Booster jag in the Kingsgate
Topic Originator: Raymie the Legend

Has anyone had theirs here in recent weeks and if so, which one was given ?

AZ, Pfizer or Moderna?

Reports show the latter two, given as a booster, provide far more protection than the first named

I believe it is only Pfizer or Moderna for the booster regardless of what you had previously.

And although my eyes were open
They just might as well be closed

It`s Pfizer in Fife and you should be offered your flu jab too.

Anyone been up recently for their booster in the Kingsgate. My mate was turned away the other night as they had used up all the vaccines, loads of people in front of him in the queue. Got mine on Friday (booked) so hopefully all will be fine!

Was in midday today and got mine without any problems. Was pretty busy though, busier than when I got my first 2 jags.

Was there this morning before work for booster. Straight in and out, no bother at all.

Early morning seems to be quietest with hardly anyone there pre 9am - would recommend that time if suitable.

By contrast, the drop in queue at 5pm yesterday was absolutely massive!!

Is there a separate line for appointments as opposed to drop-ins? Thanks!

No idea but as I walked through last night there was someone asking if everyone in the queue was drop in, so presumably they take anyone with appointments out

Drop in is only certain days/times at varying centres through fife.

Good news that they offer the Flu jab at the same time.

Flu vaccines suspended now to allow quicker throughput & don`t have to wait about for 15 mins after Covid vaccine

Is the online booking system over loaded as I can`t seem to get a diary up for Dunfermline (or any other location!)?

Is it just a case of just keep trying?

Suppose it makes sense since the Flu has all but disappeared...

Was in today about 12.30. All done and dusted with booster in about 10mins.

Flu jag available too.

What an opportunity we missed in 2014.

An interesting take on the benefits of a booster jag, in addition to the first and second doses.

That`s good. I saw that in England anti-vaxxers are booking up slots to prevent people from booking. The people who say everyone should have a choice (which they do) are attempting to remove that choice. Morons.

Dunno how reliable the source of your info is, Jake, but if it`s accurate then that`s reprehensible and those responsible are the lowest of the low.

Why not just drop in to your local centre and explain that it`s a problem for you to go further afield, Dave? I`m sure they`ll squeeze you in rather than turn you away, especially as you`re in a vulnerable group.

I`ve heard of a few "vulnerable " people getting appointments for a 4th jab, my daughter is chasing them up regarding hers.

It`s probably their booster LA. Vulvernable groups received a third dose rather than a booster. They get the booster afterwards. Our eejit leader in Westminster doesn`t seem to explain there`s a difference.

Couple of papers picked up on it. High number of no shows at Wembley. Sounds like a small minority of idiots.

The daily cases look weird. Scientists saying it is doubling in 2 days or less yet numbers generally flat.

My money on Dodgy Boris finding a lot of positive tests down the back of the sofa on Wednesday. Will be close enough to 26th or 27th then.

Of course it doesn`t really matter what "Dodgy Boris" says tho does it. It`s Nice Nicola that rules supreme up here.

Unfortunately the daily cases are split into two parts - the delta cases that have hovered around 30-50k for month and the omicron cases that have been increasing for a few weeks.

Reporting daily cases rather than weekly averages is a bit pointless. Cases are always down at weekends because fewer people get tested so the figures on Sunday and Monday are a lot lower than the other days.

Tommorow the headline will be that it is the first day with over 100,000 cases since the start of the pandemic. I`m going for 101,600 if anyone wants to play covid bingo. Johnson doesn`t want anything to spoil his Christmas, so I suppose he will wait until around Thursday or Friday morning then announce something starting on Boxing day.

This will be your booster. Those who are immunosuppressed are being offered another dose. In this group the last one was called the `third dose` and this 4th one badged as a `booster`. So you will now be roughly in line with everyone else.
