What an absolute joke the DVLA are.
Absolutely no way of getting through on the phone or online.
Some pointless messages saying they are a bit busy, call back later and then ending the call.

They seem to be drifting towards doing everything online

Probably due to COVID and staff shortages.

A bit of that jake but they have been working to rule as well I just got mine back after 15 weeks :-(
The annoying thing is that under section 88 of the road traffic act you cannot drive until you get your new license unless you have your Doctor tell you you are fit to drive ..Mad

Their offices were really hit badly by Covid before vaccination became the norm. They were told to return to their offices by the Transport Minister.
This is probably why they are working to rule and hence the delays in processing.
I hit 70yrs last year and had to apply for a licence renewal, that I did online, my new licence was with me within 4 days!
My mate did it by snail mail, I think his licence took 4 months to arrive.

Unfortunately they insisted I send my license to them so it`s probably sitting in some massive pile somewhere.

My problem was I don`t have a passport .. so no record of photo id .. although I applied online i was still sent a form to fill in and attach a witnessed pic of myself
I also had to include my original license from the 60`s .. my birth certificate and a letter from HMRC pensions .. probably why it took long

Is that the beer that looks like a bottle of Moretti?
Very nice, as is the German pilsner, the Spanish Cervesa, the Rossini Italian …all £2.38 a litre!

The very wan parboiled .. i did a blind test against Moretti and preferred the Aldi wan 60p a bottle cheaper as well
Also have you noticed that every of the Aldi copies have the exact alcohol % as the original :-)

I suspect in some cases the Aldi beer is made by the same brewery. They maybe just give Aldi the stuff that doesn`t do as well on the quality control.
Williams Bros (Alloa) used to do some beer for Lidl.

Moretti is brewed by Heineken in Edinburgh.
I think my Edam and Cornish wafers hail from Auchtermuchty.

This would explain the lack of boy racers on Linburn Road of late 😂

It`s marked as WB on the back but they had/have their own specific Lidl range of 2 or 3 beers. They used to have a really good one but I think they`ve stopped it now.

I`ve now had a response to a Web form message I completed on 12 January. Apparently they can`t respond to me because of data protection issues. I need to call them on the number that they literally never answer.

I got my new driving licence today after applying online about 3 weeks ago. I also had to complete and submit a form by post as my passport had expired so I don`t think the service was too bad. Maybe the backlog is gradually reducing.

I renewed mine recently online using my passport details and I received my new licence within a week, which is a lot better than I was expecting!
