First post to the forum and it is a sad one.
John Copeland who will be known by many of you as MDCCCLXXXV has sadly passed away.
John was a lifelong pars fan and a regular contributor to the dot net forum.

This is very, very sad. MDCCCLXXXV was a trusted poster on this forum as others have said. I didn’t have the good fortune of knowing him personally, but John spoke sense and his contributions were well put together and interesting. Thanks for everything John - rest easy mate.

I echo your sentiments, Dave. I didn`t know John personally but always enjoyed his contributions on dotnet. We may have briefly crossed paths in the Nationwide BS in East Port. I overheard something a customer said which made me think it might be John. I didn`t speak to him as I was next in the queue as he was leaving.
This man was a big lad but relatively young, I think. How old was John?
Condolences to his family.

Yes, I that confirms it. I guessed he was about 50. It was just before the pandemic.
No age at all. Says a lot for him that he refused to follow the crowd and became a Pars fan. I remember him saying all his family were diehard bluenoses.
Not your average Sunday League player.
