 King Charlie - cash
Topic Originator: DBP
Date:   Mon 12 Sep 13:48

now that he`s king, will any investigation into why he accepted suitcases containing millions in cash from a dodgy sheik be dropped? (along with any examination of what promises were made in return)?

or will it just mean that the dodgy sheik will have to cough up a bit more as he`s no longer buying merely a prince, but now he`s buying a king?

As far as I`m aware civil and/or criminal proceedings cannot be taken against the Sovereign as a person under UK law.

The “dodgy”sheikh now has a king in his pocket for the price of a prince. Good deal for him.

There was need thinking this was going to be about the printing of new notes with the new king`s head on them.

Then possibly asking the question "what`s the point? Most of the old one`s already have Charlie on them.".

Managed to dodge inheritance tax as well!

His son gets Dutchy of Cornwall, worth £20 million a year apparently.

There are some who just strangely love being under a royal family and will never say a bad word. Completely entrenched regardless.

Ep.17 of East End Tales is out now with Andrius Skerla

And he’ll give a sliver of those earnings of the land/property we let them have and people will say they are value for money and contribute r then they cost!

There are some who have plenty bad to say about the whole setup and one or two individuals in particular.
It doesn`t prevent them recognising the positives though, and deciding on balance whether they are an asset or not.

Not solely based on finance. As you say there is a strange feelgood factor about theidea of Kings and Queens.

A feel good factor about Kings and Queens ? Eh? Only if you are a child reading a fairy story perhaps, or a fawning royal sycophant who loves being ruled/reigned over by an unelected nincompoop.

I for one don’t want to be reigned over. Well I was once when I was drunk….another forum perhaps…

What an opportunity we missed in 2014.

I agree with that Desperado. When you think about it, fairy stories are full of tales of handsome, brave prince`s winning the heart of a fair maiden. The newspapers and television are totally under the control of the monarchy and will do anything in order to promote them. You could see the agenda on BBC Reporting Scotland tonight with their piece about charles in Scotland, which was basically a propaganda segment aimed to strengthen the viewers thoughts on the union.
Its brainwashing from cradle to grave, akin to the sort of personality cult you would see in North Korea.
It is good to see that support for the monarchy in Scotland is well under 50%, much lower than the other nations in the UK. Like independence support, support for the abolishion of the monarchy will grow as the older people die off and the more informed younger people replace them

It is indeed brainwashing red star.

Fortunately less and less people watch MSM these days so slowly but surely the majority of the population will just ignore all the nonsense.

NZ PM has said she believes that NZ will be a republic in her life time. Barbados has just done so and Antigua and Barbuda are having a referendum within three years.

The commonwealth will just wither away. The King as head of state of so many countries will wither away too, it is inevitable.

It will be a painfully slow process though I am afraid.

What an opportunity we missed in 2014.

What is more worrying is what appears like normal and intelligent people reading and believing any nut job on the internet who produces fake facts with no substance, and when discredited makes something else up. The good news is most people see fake news for what it is, people need to live their lives and stay offline and it will also help their mental health too.

The actual stats for Scotland in terms of who are pro monarchy:
Tory voters - high 80%
Labour/Lib voters - high 60%
SNP voters - high 20%

These figures are from the Britain Future survey done earlier this year (and related to when Queen was in throne and not King Charles)
