Cringe performance on tv tonight. Have no idea why he is so popular.
What an opportunity we missed in 2014.

Just a normal lad who isn`t afraid of being himself. Never listened to his music but seems completely harmless and making a living for himself. Fair play

He seems very genuine. Scotland is a miserable place for artists. We`re all dour and hate seeing people doing well.

Music-wise he`s definitely not my cup of tea. As a person I think he`s really funny and not afraid to take the p1ss out himself. Good luck to him I say

Bit of a sweeping generalisation there Jake.
I am always routing for Scots in any walk of life.
I have no problem with him doing well and yes he won’t care about my opinion.
His interview was cringe. As have others I have had the mis fortune to glimpse.
He makes music people like that’s for sure but he is undoubtedly cringe…
Could do with learning how to dress himself too. And find a barbers.

It`s a generalisation but a pretty accurate one. Too many Scots live that speech from Trainspotting.

Imagine judging someone because of how they look. Poor

I remember when older folk told the Beatles to get their hair cut. Some things never change.

The older folk were right to be fair. The Beatles’ haircuts were ridiculous.

A "sweeping generalisation" and then bashing him for his looks and a heavily edited interview?
Proving a point there.

Just a simple check online would maybe show a little insight into Lewis Capaldi interviews. Then maybe clowns on here would think twice about such poor tasted comments

His songs aren`t really my cup of tea, but his voice isn`t too bad and he seems like a likeable chap, who is pretty down to earth. Deserves all the success he has in my opinion
That video of him in concert still cracks me up, where he says, "ladies and gentlemen.... Mr Paolo Nutini....."
Cue massive applause and whooping from the audience
"....is not here....."

As a person he is as sound as it gets, turned up at my nieces nursery to sing songs with them for an hour because his mums mate is a helper there.
Boy I work with is a mate of his from Bathgate who regularly drinks with him and says he is nothing like the confidence personality he uses when on stage / interview that’s a character.

That kinda makes you cringeworthy due to your opinions......
You actually having no idea to his popularity makes you sound ignorant towards the people who do like him...

Him and his comments on BBC breakfast a while ago were like watching a car crash in slow motion....it was clear for the whole interview that he was going to say something at some point.

There is a vulnerability about him, in a good way, not sure if he has a bit of ADHD or is on the autistic spectrum but he just comes across as being very natural when interviewed as if he`s just chatting to folk he knows in the street or down the pub.
Hopefully has good people around him to keep the vultures away.

Not sure on ADHD/autism, but I believe he has recently revealed that he has tourettes - with the most noticeable of his ticks being his twitching during interviews and the like.

I`ve also worked with a lass from Motherwell who half knew him from college, says he`s always been a great lad and hasn`t changed a bit.

There`s a very good documentary on him on Netflix - he was only recently diagnosed with tourettes.
Utterly heartbreaking story behind his song "Before you go" too.
