Any chance they are getting frozen and pouring boiling water on them would clear any potential blockage? I`m clearly not a plumber.

Ah cool. Good luck mate. It sounds like you might have the same issue I have especially if you`re in Duloch. Out pipe should apparently be made of plastic, insulated and much wider to stop it freezing and was apparently a bit naughty by the original builders. I was given a rough estimate of £300 to £400 to fix but the plumber I had couldn`t do it and recommended looking for a builder. Good luck though!

Thaw it with boiling water then check how it`s draining. It`s not really cold enough for water to be freezing quickly so it could be that it`s been draining slowly for ages and building up in the pipe.

Kate Forbes wants plumbers and other tradesmen…sorry tradespeople to preach the case for Indy when they are in folks’ houses .
The fact that many will be among the majority who told Salmond to stuff it seems to have escaped the dimwit..

I think we know who the dimwit is. Chances are that around 50% of plumbers would support independence, and obviously she wouldn`t expect those who don`t to be making the case. She`s just saying advocating a grass roots campaign, which seems reasonable whatever side of the argument you`re on.

Utter crap..it’s nowhere near 50%, and even if it was would they want to alienate the other half of their potential customers?

Curious to know what percentage you believe support independence?
And you do realise she wasn`t being prescriptive? I mean she was just making the point that sometimes political messages resonate more if they come from grass roots.
Anyway, politics forum for this sh...

Well I got a plumber out who didn`t mention independence but sorted my pipe. Thanks for the genuine attempts with solutions etc.

Caustic soda and a kettle of boiling water is good for clearing pretty much any blockage be it food waste, blocked hair etc as long as it`s plastic pipes and obviously take proper precautions and stand WELL back (the cartels used to use it for their own type of `waste disposal`)

Once doing this we realised that the connector was blocked with potentially hardened putty (ex council flat). So drilled below the connector and draining like a dream.

Given the age range of those actively working as plumbers, it`s virtually certain that around 50% of them would support independence.
