Aparently we are supplying DU anti tank shells to Ukraine.
Just found out we used them in Iraq and Afghanistan too.
I realy think this is a massive no no.
What are we thinking about?
This will not just affect the invaders, it will affect everyone for years.
How is this acceptable?
There has to be an outcry to stop this.
We are sanctioning the use of dirty bombs.
That is indefensible.

Morally reprehensible as it is... And it is ....I was under the impression that this was common knowledge and not a secret.
I`ve worked at bombing ranges on the west coast where they test these munitions as well as many more types that are now banned.
A wee trip to Google with search words "Luce bay" and "West Freugh" is a bit of an eye opener ....and of course Beaufort`s Dyke has been a problem going way back and still presents a problem to this day.

Thats the most surprising thing. It is not hidden, its all out in the open.
I just can`t believe we are apparently championing the environment here but happily chucking radioactive particles about elsewhere.
Surely this will affect the health of Ukrainian citizens for decades after the war.
Why is Ukraine accepting this?

Depleted uranium emits Alpha radiation which can`t even penetrate skin.
It`s purpose in the weapons supplied to Ukraine is amour piercing, so is effective against tanks.
I have absolutely no issue with it killing as many Russian rapists and murderers as possible.
Concerns about radiation are unfounded.
Depleted Uranium can be used in nuclear weapons but that`s not what these are.

Indeed, depleted Uranium is nigh oh harmless unless ingested or held unprotected for long periods. Radiation is wildly misunderstood

Once the Ukrainian victory is complete then not just Putin, but all his alleged murderers and rapists can be put on trial at The Hague. That`s the ICC which the US government does not recognise and indeed has legislation to invade in the event of any American soldier being detained.
I don`t think the ICC will have any problem with depleted uranium so long as it is fired from NATO tanks. All is fair in love and war- so long as you win. Goering`s speech at the Nuremburg trials stated this very clearly.
So we await the Ukraine victory.

Opinions are not facts. DU shells used in anti tank weapons are non harmful Alpha radiation.
DU also has a half life of 4.5 billion years so the emissions are very low.
It`s a potential hazard in large quantities but at levels beyond what could conceivably be breathed in.
