Alcaraz up 2 sets to 1. Djokovic is definitely rattled with his gestures to the crowd and arguing with the umpire over time penalties etc. Alcaraz seems to have the temperament as well as the shots to match him but can he get it over the line?

Got to favour Djokovic now especially after what happened in Paris although I did fancy Alcaraz before the match started.

Great game.Finished off in style. Alcaraz will be around for years to come if he stays fit.

There are many young pretenders to Djokovic`s throne but Alcaraz is the real deal. He wasn`t fazed by any mind games. Some of the rallies in that match were unbelievable.

Pleasing. Hopefully this signals the passing of the torch.
And although my eyes were open

He`s been number 1 in the World for nearly a year already and has an all court game so will win plenty.5 hours of quality there from both players.
I`ve enjoyed the tournament apart from the crowd having a few too many pimms on a few occasions.I didn`t like the treatment Azarenka got through no fault of her own after a great match.

Classy speech from Djokovic I thought.

I’ve not seen a young player with a better all round game for many, many years.
Will dominate for the foreseeable.

I think so too but Djokovic isn`t going anywhere just yet. That could be his best chance of the calendar grand slam gone though.

Without doubt. The fast courts in New York will suit Alcaraz well, so it’s going to be tough for Novak to win another slam

It will be tough but I reckon he will since he is chasing down the record. He has won the last 2 slams( the last 3 he entered)before this and was a point away from going 2-0 today.Just had a look and he is 6/5 to win the US open with Alacaraz at 6/4.

I just saw the overall stats for the final.Alcaraz won 168 points to Djokovic`s 166.Doesn`t get much closer than that.
