Does anyone know if the Viceroy is closed permanently? I thought they had a sign saying the closure was temporary but their website seems to be gone and their Facebook page isn`t there either.

Forever or just temporarily?
I ordered for delivery a few months back. Took ages and was pretty poor tbh.

Cheers Kozma although that is gutting. The delivery times were always long but surprised you had a bad meal there. I`d have said it`s the best curry in the city.
You`re genuinely one of the first I`ve seen that hasn`t enjoyed theirs.

LPF. Ashiqs wipes the floor with the viceroy, imo

Everest Inn in Brucefield won Curry Restaurant of the Year at the Scottish Curry awards and is worth a go.
I tried the North Indian Garlic Chilli and it was superb.

Tried both those and thought they were decent but not as good as the Viceroy. Probably be revisiting them now though 🙈

Shame as its one place we never tried and we enjoy an Indian. Tbf, the toun has its fair share of good curry houses. Apricot is superb; Everest Inn, Dhoom, Ashiq`s etc all very good too.

Shame it`s closed though. There`s surely enough demand, particularly with Kushi`s being closed for the foreseeable.

I thought it might have been but the menus are a bit different and I also thought the viceroy was a bit better. We normally used to get a Jallunder and Ashiqs doesn`t do that.

That’s not what Ashiq told me when he moved up to Viceroy and left Ashiqs (the restaurant) behind, he explained it was a clean break. May well have reinvested later or kept some stake as a silent partner though.

Kelty nailed it. Lots of opinions suiting varied tastes but the fact is, I dont think there is a poor Indian restaurant in the city. Apricot get my vote but not much between the rest.

We used to go up to Maya`s in the leisure park for their frankly ridiculously good value lunch and was sad when that closed without warning. Never good when a local place shuts.
