Scottish actor has died at the age of 90 in New York. Fans my age will remember him as Ilya Kuriyakin in the Man From UNCLE in the 60s where he operated alongside Napolean Solo played bt Robert Vaughan. He also starred more recently in NCIS.
I remember rushing home from BB to catch Man from Uncle on a Thursday evening. One of the lads in my class at school in Paisley was actually his cousin which we all thought was pretty cool.

His father, also David, was a big noise in the music world (no pun intended) and went on to become leader of the London Philharmonic.
The Man from Uncle became a self taught acknowledged authority on forensic pathology due to his role in NCIS.
I mind of him particularly as Ashley-Pitt in The Great Escape.
