Another Bruce Street business gone. Citing gas/leccy costs, but what have Fife Council done since the BID failed (apart from waste time/money on a stupid city square no-one wants?

The old church on Bruce Street, Buffy. Bar, restaurant, hotel. Did live music too.
Whole thing is shut. Lease ended and handed the keys back. Rumour is a new restaurant linked with Khushi`s is opening in the old Ladbrokes down from it.
Hope they find a new tenant. City centre hotels are few and.far between and it`s a nice old church. I have to confess I was never in it but the concept seemed a good one but maybe a bit jack of all trades? Sad to see it go but can see what they`re up against with energy bills quadrupling. Dhoom said the same earlier in the year. It`s an absolute shambles.

I would rather stay at home than go to Spoons. Our eldest goes there, cheaper drink is his reason.

Town for the young ones these days must be brutal to be fair…15 years ago when I strted going out it was a different place!
Brasshouse, Johnsons, Harlem, Lourenzos, PJs, Life, City, Cafe Continental - go to any of these on a Saturday night and it was heaving - different tastes for everyone and always busy. Thats not including the smaller pubs in town either…did the end of drinks promotions start the end of the town as a night life?

Tenner all you can drink in the Ballroom, one glass.
Was that a Sunday night?
Not allowed that anymore. Same with happy hour.
I think 1703 could be a great wedding venue and/or pub/restaurant. Got an adjoining hotel so seems the perfect use.

Could be right. Never did it often, that`s probably why if it was midweek.

I know. I was in town the last night before the new regulations came into place. Coadys had a bunch of mental offers on the go that were getting tanked back.

Stopped in circa 2009? The ballroom one was a Thursday night. Johnsons used ti be buy one get one free - hour and a half in there with 2 doubles for £3 was pretty lethal 😂

We used to get a `fiver card` in the local.
£5 (obviously) and you got your wee card stamped for each drink then after #5 you surrendered the card in exchange for a `free` sixth drink. Was limited to house spirits & draft but some deal all the same.

I remember at uni there being ridiculous offers. 50p shots, £1 pints. You`d go to places in town and they`d be doing bogof on doubles of spirits with mixers and bottles.

Used to love the watering hole with their £1 vodka and cokes. Great starting point before a night club.

Dundee student Union when I first went in 2012 was £2 any pint and 50p/£1 shots/spirits. Get absolutely steaming on £15. Good times
