Why is this man being released after serving less than 10 years for murdering his girlfriend and then telling a pack of lies, which Boris Johnson and Dominic Cummings would have been proud of, to try and avoid prison?

Probably because of his name, hes served over half his sentence and the victims mum and dad have probably facilitated it - her dad took part in conversations with him last year and his mum did not object to his release today either.
I still believe he should have been jailed for much longer and not been allowed early release, but Im sure Rhino Par at the time said there was a max sentence for manslaughter?

He was eventually charged with murder at the Supreme Court after the culpable homicide charge was upgraded.
Her father died last year and although her mother said she couldn`t face him again, she said she `would be concerned about the safety of any woman who comes into contact with him`.I wouldn`t say that they had facilitated it. Unfortunately, he was likely to be released regardless.

Her mother also stated that she did not oppose his release. She has just questioned if he has battled his anger issues well enough to be released, which Im guessing she thinks isn’t for her to decide.
He is still under monitoring for the remainder of his time of sentence too though.
