The multi-talented and stylish artist and playwright, John Byrne, has died at the age of 83. As well as writing entertaining plays like the Slab Boys trilogy and Tutti Frutti he also illustrated album covers for Gerry Rafferty and Stealers Wheel. He painted a portrait of Billy Connolly too I believe.

I watched a documentary about him two or three years ago. Talented, for sure and a real character……old school….RIP John.
