Wondering if anyone has experienced this today (Monday)? Looked fun yesterday, but I was putting that down to initial setup and teething problems. Maybe the 4-way lights are working beautifully now and keeping everyone moving…

What exactly is the set up? If they`ve put lights on each entry to the roundabout then surely it`ll be indicative of what it`ll be like when the real lights are in? I`m not a transport engineer (clearly!) but how hard is it to chuck in some lights? Though how does it even work on such a small roundabout? Stop more than a handful of cars at lights and you block the roundabout.

During the works I believe it is 4-way. So, one entrance green at any one time, hence carnage (presumably) for the next 5 months. I’m sure there will be some optimal snazzy sequence in operation after go-live.
Edited to add that I agree… not sure how it can work effectively on such a small roundabout.

Who`s bright idea was this ?
I see no need to change that roundabout.
I`ve never had a problem with it anyway.

It`s in preparation for an estimated increase in traffic volumes due to house building. For once the council getting infrastructure in place before it`s a problem.

Should also be pointed out that it is being paid for by housing developers, not the Council.

What I find odd is that the new western road from the King Malcolm looks like it connects to the Coal Road! If ever there was a disaster waiting to happen!

Is this going to affect access to parking around EEP on match days for us out-of-towners?

As much as I think these roadworks are a pain in the erchie.... There`s plenty of other roads in and out of the town. Just pick another route.
Unless you`re on the no19 bus that is .... In which case , take a book with you 🤣

Come via Halbeath Road or Townhill Road. The council has cocked this one up and it`s going to affect traders are one of the busiest times of year. Absolutely muppetry by transport planners who clearly aren`t based in Dunfermline.

Anyone seen an explanation why there are so many unrelated sets of roadworks going on at the same time? Did FC suddenly get funding come in?

I don`t know about the other roadworks but the work in Duloch looked like the gas board and Bothwell roundabout is being paid for by Sterling developments. I`m guessing it`s more that Fife Council centralised everything to Glenrothes so any local knowledge has gone so they won`t appreciate or realise they`ve blocked numerous entrances into the city centre at probably one of the busiest times for shops, restaurants and attractions. Are any of the Westminster candidates for Dunfermline proposing the annexing of West Fife so we can get rid of Fife Council?

It`s almost as if Dunfermline no longer has people from the council roads and planning teams based in Dunfermline. Oh, wait...
Honestly, Fife Council is an absolute joke and has been since it was formed. Unfortunately, it`s unlikely the Scottish Government would permit the return of DDC and would instead force West Fife to join the Lothians.

Another alternative route into town affected - temporary lights on the way towards Kingseat, sometimes causing tailbacks through the mini roundabout on the way to the hospital.
Seems like the council policy is to get everything done at once. Like we`re already moaning so a bit more pain won`t make much difference.

It won`t just be them. I went to head into town on Saturday morning and turned around as Halbeath Road was rammed. I know it can get bad but this was worse than usual. Earlier in the week I`d gone up by the hospital and then down Townhill Road but I imagine all these rat runs are getting utilised now.

Heard on radio this morning they are down 40% in revenue already……and Fife Council issued a meaningless apology……staggering the incompetence
