Just got an email from Sony (looks genuine) saying they were going to delete my account as I hadn`t been using it. I`d no idea I had an account although I do have a Sony TV. Anyone know anything about this?

Sounds nonsense. If you do have an account for your TV then presumably you can just set it up again if it is deleted. It`s worth checking that the reply email is legit and that any links are definitely Sony.com and not s0ny.com

Sounds like phishing, don’t click on anything or they could get in and gain access to your personal data.

My sister got an email about her Amazon Prime Account (that she didn`t have) saying her "free" trial had expired.
She found out that the person had watched 10+ films using her name!

Perhaps you needed a Sony account to register a product previously ?
Go online to them direct and their customer service folk can help.
