 roadworks in Dunfermline

Is there massive financial resources for roadworks in Dunfermline as it seems it`s never ending. A road down from where I live has lights up for roadworks almost all year round. if you drive around Dunfermline it`s pretty much the same scenario in lots of areas. Are they so bad at repairing the roads that they have to keep doing it all year round, can companies not coordinate roadworks for damage, utilities, etc?

I sometimes wonder if the companies use cheap materials for patch ups then it’s rinse and repeat every year.

Most roadworks are by private firms. They are supposed to coordinate but never do. Their reinstatement work is supposed to be checked by Fife Council but the staff have spent nearly 30 years trying to escape the Glenrothes roundabouts.

Boy I work with said that council budgets need used by end of either Sept/Oct so they pile in the roadworks at the end of the year with their excess budget. Makes sense as there always seems to be loads of work done this time of year on roads that have been neglected for the 10 months before.

At least the roundabouts keep the traffic moving, clearly an issue in Dunfermline.

Speak for yourself. I`ve been going round the Queensway roundabout for almost 6 months now.

Financial year runs March/April and all works are planned out for the whole year. Only emergency or unplanned works will get slotted in between. So the boy is talking rubbish.

Thats fair enough then Athletico - it may just be that councils push for more repairs before the winter so looks like they are using up unused budgets 👍🏻
