An initial six-week ceasefire, During that period Hamas will release 33 of the hostages that it seized in the 7 October attack.
It’s not clear how many of those 33 are still alive.
Good news for those who like peace, bad news for those who wish to make monetary and political capital through death, war and suffering.

They are retaining men of military background - I think this is more hostages from the civilian captures going back. Also hundreds of Palestinians being released on the other side.

Israel`s security minister has threatened to resign unless he`s given a guarantee that the bombing of Gaza will recommence once the hostages have been released and are safely back in Israel.

Regardless of your views, both sides have caused this. You can argue who has killed more or who has instigated what but the thing to remember is thousands of innocent lives have been lost. Mums, dads, brothers, sisters etc gone. Kids waking up with no family anymore, homes and communities destroyed. It`s absolutely disgraceful that this country just stood by and let it happen rather than call for an immediate ceasefire. And don`t even start me on these idiotic celebrities. This isn`t a game of football, this is real lives at stake.

Yes. Everyone is just closing their eyes to the suffering and letting Israel carry out their genocide. Maybe everyone should have minded their own business back in the 1940s? Just wait till the ceasefire comes around and Western journalists ask to access Gaza, to be denied by the Israelis. They will not want independent journos going in there and verifying that the death tolls in the hundreds of thousands.
